Weight Loss Blues In Charlotte

Weight Loss Blues in Charlotte

Hello, my name is Crystal Jones.  As a part of my class, Tools for the Digital Age, here at Kaplan University, as our final project, we were charged with creating a blog that includes a podcast, so here we go!  I hope you enjoy.
At some point in all of our lives, we have probably all be unhappy about our weight.  Some because they felt they were underweight, but for the majority of people, it has been because they felt as though they were overweight.  Me, I am in the “I feel as though I am overweight” crowd.  I finally decided though, that I was going to do something about it and change how I feel about myself.  I took a look at my overall lifestyle, eating habits and workout regime.  I realized all of it had to change.  I did not start with drastic changes, I slowly made changes like getting up earlier to have a healthy breakfast in the mornings.  I have also incorporated Weight Watchers into my life and it has changed my life.  I don’t always get to go to the meetings, but being able to count my points on a regular basis, helps to keep me on track.
I have also gone from being stationary to exercising at least three times a week, more when I can.  I found that by doing something that I enjoyed, made it a lot easier for me to exercise.  So I found a hip hop cardio class and I love it.  On this past Saturday, I hired a personal trainer, so I am going to ramp it up and take my workout regime to an entirely different level and I am up for the challenge.
I have found that losing weight is 90% mental and 10% physical.  I now know that I would have never gotten to this point had I not made it up in my mind that I was ready and needed to make changes to my lifestyle if I wanted to live a healthy life going forward.  So far, since January 2, I am proud to say that I have lost 15 pounds.  This just goes to show with just a few changes in your life, you can achieve whatever it is that you want to do.  I am very excited about my changes and am looking forward to a much healthier life.
